Meet Kyle: Wellness Watchdog in a Toxic World

Kyle Smith is a holistic health coach, independent researcher, and the founder of kyletothemoon, a long-form, blog-focused agency focused on wellness education and environmental health awareness.
He began racing motocross at a young age and developed an early interest in writing professionally when a broken arm had kept him from competing. Kyle was still at the racetrack anyway with his broken arm, so he decided to start submitting his race reports to motocross magazines whenever he was sidelined. By seventh grade, he was the youngest published contributor to Cycle News and Final Lap. Athletics remained a throughline, from wrestling in high school to training in Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai by college.
However, what made Kyle start questioning the medical system wasn’t journalism or sports; those were tools that allowed him to find answers. What sparked the questions was watching his mom battle cancer for years, spending weekends in the ER with his parents after motocross crashes, and living with lipoma cysts all over his seemingly athletic body while doctors told him it was “genetic” and not related to diet or environment.
Kyle grew up in a small family business centered on reverse osmosis water purification, which gave him hands-on experience and early exposure to environmental health topics. After college, he worked in cardiology and radiology equipment sales, which led to growing concerns about the sick-care industry and its focus on symptom management rather than root cause healing.
These experiences contributed to his decision to leave the medical sales field, sell his home, and travel full-time in a motorhome with his wife and dog while building a career in holistic health.
Kyle holds various certifications as a holistic health coach and a CHEK Practitioner. He has worked with several top wellness podcasters, top athletes, and brands, and has spent years thoughtfully studying scientific literature related to various environmental toxins, nutrition, and other lifestyle factors contributing to chronic disease. His work focuses on identifying flawed research methods, uncovering industry bias, and simplifying complex health topics for the public.
Since 2023, Kyle has settled in North Idaho, where he continues to write, research, and work with various brands and organizations on issues related to personal health sovereignty, non-toxic living, and environmental wellness. His goal is to help others make informed decisions about their health through honest research and practical, real-world solutions.
His work centers on whole-istic wellness—the integration of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health shaped by factors like nutrition, hydration, light, mindset, nervous system balance, and the environments we live in. His goal is to make these complex topics accessible, actionable, and grounded in both research and lived experience.
